Program Details

Community4Youth provides a support system for youth who have experienced foster care through connections made with caring adults at our camps and special events. Compass Groups take place in local group homes as well as churches. Our desire is for these connections to result in a mentorship that will give our kids the consistency, guidance, support, and advocacy they need and deserve.

Our Compass Groups meet on a weekly or bi-monthly basis and serve youth in group, foster, and adoptive homes. During our time with them, we provide a meal, play games and share a devotional. We also teach critical life skills tailored to the needs of each group, so youth will be prepared for independence as they age out of the system. We provide a supportive community where youth build lifelong relationships, have fun, and grow in confidence. Mentees have the opportunity to participate in special events such as Ride the Wave, Lake Days, Alpaca Ranch, as well as early registration for camp.

Make a Lasting Impact as a Waymark Mentor

Waymark mentors build life-changing relationships with youth in foster, adoptive, and group homes through a variety of opportunities.

Whether you want to commit long-term as a traditional mentor, join weekly Compass Groups, support youth academically, guide teens transitioning to adulthood, or stay connected as a pen-pal, there’s a place for you to serve.

Every role helps equip kids and teens with the hope, skills, and resilience they need to thrive. Ready to learn more about becoming a mentor?

“I know for my boys the biggest thing was just not feeling like they were the only ones that had been through this, they always felt like they were alone in their journey. Waymark Mentors are helping them understand and see that they aren't broken, that they aren't the only ones that have been through hard things."
